Nutrition in schools

Helen uses the school setting to communicate healthy eating messages to groups of children and teenagers. The content and style of delivery can be targeted to particular age groups. Advice on the food served for school meals can also be given.

The importance of such messages cannot be underestimated in the face of an escalating childhood obesity epidemic, in which one in three children leaving primary school in the UK are overweight or obese and type II diabetes in children is rising rapidly. Malnutrition in teenagers living in the UK is also widespread and frequently hidden. Micronutrient deficiencies such as iron and calcium are have been found in many secondary school aged children.

If you are a teacher or parent who would like to discuss how your school may benefit from this service, please call Helen on 07768 194095 or email helen@fadfreenutrition.uk
